How to Design the Ultimate Basketball Workout
make better basketball habits with The Club
How to 80/20 Design Your Ultimate Basketball Workout:
(1) Make a list of the ten things you spend the most time DOING in a game that create positive index points (pts, rebs, assts, steals, asst to turnover ratio, etc) or playing time for yourself.
Ask yourself when you played well, what were you doing? Are you a point guard that uses dribble moves to attack in transition or half court (Kyrie/ Diana T.)? Do you control the ball and not turn it over (Mike Conley / Sue Bird)? Do you play amazing defense and create steals, rebounds, and deflections (Tony Allen)? Do you need to create space to shoot, or are you a pass first player? Can you play 1v1 in half-court very well, or is your game getting assists in transition?
Do you use a lot of pick & rolls (Luka & Trae Young)?
Or down screens, pin downs, or low dribble scoring chances (Klay Thompson)?
(2) Circle the two of biggest drivers of your point index and circle two that are your weakest area. Write those out. Focus on what truly drives your results. Do more of those.
(3) Look at the others. Press pause on the rest.
(4) Repeat.
